NOTE: When using Skunk2 Titanium Retainers on 2004 and newer engines, pre-2004 locks (keepers/cotters) must be used! Pre-2004 keepers can be identified by the absence of marks along the top edge (2004 and newer keepers feature laser-etched marks along the top edge). Proper retainer/lock selection is important due to varying angle ratios between earlier and later lock designs. Use of improper retainers and/or locks may result in serious engine damage.

Skunk2 Alpha Valve Springs are CNC-wound using super-clean chrome-silicon vanadium alloy wire, that is then heat treated, tempered, and shot peen stress-relieved to prevent load loss and maximize durability under even the most extreme operating conditions.

Skunk2 Alpha Titanium Retainers for Honda’s K Series engines are designed using the latest computer-aided design to ensure that each retainer is optimized for both strength and weight reduction. Titanium retainers serve to reduce the reciprocating mass that the valve spring must control at higher rpms, resulting in improved valvetrain stability and horsepower. All Skunk2 titanium retainers are precision CNC machined from aircraft grade 6AL4V titanium for the ultimate in precision and durability.
